The Automate tab is where Slokoto runs AI-driven follow-up sequences for active leads. Instead of manually remembering the next touch, you can send a lead into automation and let Slokoto plan, draft, schedule, and track the sequence.
What it does
Automation helps you follow up consistently without losing context:
- Plans a sequence of email or SMS follow-ups
- Chooses timing based on your selected cadence
- Uses templates when available, or drafts from scratch when needed
- Runs in either approval-first mode or full-auto mode
- Keeps all activity visible in the lead timeline
How it works
- Open a lead and click Automate.
- Choose the mode, cadence, and maximum number of steps.
- Slokoto plans the sequence immediately.
- Each step runs on schedule.
- When the sequence finishes without a reply, the lead moves to No Response.
If the lead replies during automation, Slokoto cancels the active automation, resolves any waiting approval step, and brings the conversation back into active follow-up so a rep can handle it.
Automation modes
Half-automated
Slokoto drafts each step and pauses for review before sending.
- A Todo is created when the next step is ready
- The assigned rep reviews the draft
- The rep can approve and send
This is the safer mode when message quality matters more than speed.
Fully automated
Slokoto drafts and sends each step on schedule without waiting for approval.
- Best for lower-touch or high-volume follow-up
- Useful when speed and consistency matter most
- Still logged in the lead timeline and Automate tab
Cadence options
| Cadence | Typical spacing | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Aggressive | 1 to 2 days | Hot leads and time-sensitive deals |
| Moderate | 3 to 5 days | Standard follow-up rhythm |
| Gentle | 7 to 10 days | Longer-cycle or nurture deals |
You also choose the maximum number of steps. Slokoto can plan up to 10 steps, with a default of 7.
Templates
Templates are reusable message skeletons for automation.
- Created from the Templates sub-tab in Automate
- Can be scoped to Email or SMS
- Can include product association and usage notes
- Help Slokoto produce more consistent drafts
If no suitable template exists, Slokoto can draft the message from context.
Sending a lead to automation
- Open Backoffice -> Leads.
- Open a lead.
- Click Automate in the lead header.
- Choose:
- Half-automated or Fully automated
- A cadence
- The maximum number of steps
- Save to start the automation.
Only one active automation can run on a lead at a time.
Working inside the Automate tab
The Automate tab shows active and paused automations in one place.
Views
- My - Your automations
- Team - All workspace automations for managers and admins
Each card shows
- Lead name and company
- Current progress through the sequence
- Mode badge
- Countdown to the next follow-up
- Next channel and template

Common actions
- Search for a lead or company
- Sort by next follow-up time or step progress
- Edit an existing automation
- Cancel an automation
Approving drafts in half-auto mode
When a half-auto step becomes due:
- Slokoto generates the draft.
- The automation pauses.
- A Todo appears for review.
- The rep opens the Todo and approves the draft.
- Slokoto sends the message and advances the sequence.
What happens when a lead replies
Inbound replies are treated as a live handoff point.
- Active or paused automation is cancelled
- Waiting automation approval Todos are auto-resolved
- The lead is returned to active follow-up if needed
- A fresh Todo is created so the rep can respond manually
This keeps automation from continuing after the customer has already re-engaged.
Cancelling an automation
Canceling stops the sequence immediately.
- No further steps will run
- The cancellation is logged on the lead
- You can start a new automation later if needed
Requirements
Automation works best when communication channels are connected:
- Email automation uses a connected email path
- SMS automation requires CTM SMS support to be configured
See Gmail Setup and CallTrackingMetrics (CTM) Setup for channel setup.
Tips
- Start with Half-automated until your team trusts the output
- Use Moderate cadence as the default for most leads
- Keep templates concise so AI has room to personalize
- Check the lead timeline when you want the full history of automation activity
- Cancel and relaunch the sequence if the follow-up strategy needs to change
