Do It Now is the compose screen where you write and send emails or SMS to a lead. It combines the conversation history, AI context, and a full message editor into one focused view.
How to open it
You reach Do It Now by clicking Do It on a Todo card, approving an automation step, or clicking the compose action from Lead View. Slokoto pre-fills the screen with the right context depending on how you arrived.
What you see
Lead header
A compact bar at the top shows:
- Lead name and company
- Current stage and status
- Last contact date
- Deal value
AI summary
A collapsible section with the lead context Slokoto thinks you need before writing:
- Overview of the situation
- Key facts and risks
- What to address in your reply
Click Refresh to regenerate the summary if the lead has new activity.
Channel tabs
Switch between Email and SMS depending on what the lead needs.
| Channel | Requirements |
|---|---|
| Gmail connected for the sending rep | |
| SMS | CTM integration configured and lead has a phone |
Reply mode
When composing email, choose between:
- Same Thread — reply to the most recent conversation thread
- New Thread — start a fresh email with a new subject line
In Same Thread mode the subject is locked to the existing thread. In New Thread mode you write the subject yourself.
Compose area
#### Email- To, CC, BCC — chip-based inputs with suggestions from previous thread participants. CC and BCC are hidden by default and can be expanded.
- Subject — read-only in Same Thread mode, editable in New Thread mode
- Rich text editor — full toolbar with bold, italic, lists, links, and more
- Signature — your email signature is previewed below the editor and attached automatically on send
- To — the lead's phone number
- Message — plain text area with a character counter and segment indicator (each segment is 160 characters)
Thread history
A collapsible panel below the editor showing the conversation so far. Email messages are rendered safely so you can read the full HTML content. If the lead has multiple threads, use the dropdown to switch between them. Click Expand history to load older messages.
AI personalization
Slokoto can help you draft or improve your message. Open the AI panel and choose:
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Generate reply | AI writes a complete draft using the lead context |
| Personalize | AI rewrites your existing draft to be more relevant |
| Undo | Restores whatever you had before the AI changed it |
AI uses the lead summary, conversation history, and your selected template (if any) to write the message. You can always edit the result before sending.
Templates
Click the Templates button to open a side drawer with all available templates.
- Filter by Public (shared by your team) or My templates (private to you)
- Templates are filtered to the current channel (email or SMS)
- Selecting a template replaces the editor content. If you already have a draft, Slokoto asks before overwriting.
- Templates support variables like
{{lead.name}},{{lead.company}}, and{{sender.name}}
Templates are created and managed in the Automate tab. See Automate Tab for details.
Draft recovery
Slokoto auto-saves your draft every few seconds while you type. If you navigate away and come back, you will see a prompt to Restore your previous draft or Discard it.
Drafts are saved per lead, per channel, and per reply mode — so an unsent email reply and an unsent SMS are saved independently.
Drafts are cleared automatically after a successful send.
Sending
Click Send Email or Send SMS at the bottom of the screen. Before sending, Slokoto checks:
- At least one recipient in the To field (email)
- A non-empty subject (new thread email)
- A non-empty message body
- Channel readiness (Gmail connected for email, CTM configured for SMS)
If the send came from an automation approval step, the button reads Approve & Send instead. Approving sends the message and advances the automation to the next step.
After sending, Slokoto clears the draft and takes you back to the lead.
Tips
- Check the AI summary before writing — it highlights what the customer is waiting for
- Use Generate reply when starting from scratch, Personalize when you have a rough draft
- Open the thread history to avoid repeating what was already said
- Use templates for common responses and let AI personalize the details
- If you accidentally apply AI changes, click Undo to get your draft back
